Do a Charity Skydive in aid of: Chernobyl Children's Project International
Registered Charity Number: 11477
Chernobyl Children’s Project International’s mission is to restore hope, alleviate suffering and protect current and future generations in the Chernobyl regions, by passionately advocating the rights of all of those affected. In partnership with indigenous organisations, CCPI develops programmes to reduce poverty and improve the livelihoods of current and future generations of Chernobyl’s children.
The Chernobyl Children’s Project International (CCPI) was established in 1991 in the aftermath of the world's worst nuclear disaster which occurred at Chernobyl in 1986. The Chernobyl nuclear accident medically, socially and economically devastated Belarus, Ukraine and Western Russia. CCPI was the leading organization to respond to the emergency humanitarian crisis at the time.
Since then and as a direct result of the charity's intervention, the quality of life of thousands of children from the heart of the Chernobyl zone has been improved immeasurably. CCPI has delivered over €80 million worth of aid to date, and brought over 19,000 children into Ireland on life-enhancing Rest & Recuperation.
The overall objective of the Project is to develop medical and humanitarian programmes that facilitate long-term sustainable community-based solutions, building up local capacity and directly benefiting local communities including children and adults. Our main programme areas include our Medical Care Programme, Day Care Centre Development, De-institutionalisation Programme, Rest & Recuperation Programme and Building & Construction Programme.
